In the Land Of… examines the many faces of censorship and celebrates the vital role libraries play in protecting intellectual freedom. This exhibition brings together visual works that confront banned books, silenced histories, and the ongoing fight for free expression.

The show in the Central San Diego Library features work by Cindy Zimmerman, Susan Osborn, Kathy Nida, Helen Redman, Nanette Newbry, Judith Christensen, Doris Bittar, Judith Parenio, Ruth Wallen, Bridget Rountree, Marty O, Momilani Ramstrum, Stacie Birky Greene and Kirsten Aaboe.

A Book Making Workshop is also featured on October 7, 2025 from 5:00-7:45pm at the Mary Hollis Clark Conference Center at the Central Library in downtown San Diego.
