[Exhibition Description]

Don't Shut Up was a resonant call to arms in the form of art, activism, and communal discourse, centering around the lived experiences of women in the face of sexism, violence, and discrimination. The exhibition drew inspiration from the feminist resistance art movement of the 1960s, revitalizing its spirit through a contemporary lens. Among the featured works were a collaborative quilt that embodied the exhibition's essence by weaving together stories of resistance from across the United States, and an interactive political postcard writing station to engage visitors in direct action. Alongside it, spoken word performances and artist talks delved deeper into themes of support, empowerment, and strategies to combat gender oppression. The show's comprehensive approach, integrating visual art with performance, action, and discussion, encapsulated the multifaceted nature of feminist activism.

Diverse methodologies of activism and art serve as powerful tools of resilience and hope. This show not only exhibited personal stories of struggle but also transformed them into collective tales of strength, using art as a vehicle for social change and healing.
