[Exhibition Description]
"Indoor/Outdoor" represented a cross-cultural exploration of spatial perception, brought to life through the collaborative spirit of the Swedish art group Krogen Amerika and the Feminist Image Group. This exhibition emerged as a dialogue between the interior and exterior realms as interpreted and manifested by artists from divergent backgrounds. The synthesis of traditional and contemporary print production techniques by Krogen Amerika, alongside the eclectic visual art methodologies employed by the American contingent, crafted a narrative that traversed geographical and conceptual boundaries. The juxtaposition of these varied artistic languages reflected the distinctive cultural lenses through which space is perceived. This exhibition aimed to challenge and expand the viewer's understanding of place and identity.
The exhibition included an immersive exchange of skills and perspectives, including a print workshop led by the visiting Swedish artists, and the celebration of the Midsomer Festival, a Swedish tradition honoring fertility goddesses. Participants and viewers alike entered into a shared experiential space. This exhibition not only highlighted the dynamic interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces but also served as a testament to the power of artistic collaboration in bridging disparate worlds. Through a blend of visual dialogues and cultural exchange, "Indoor/Outdoor" reflected FIG’s mission of unity, creativity, and mutual understanding.
